Burrows did nothing wrong, this is what he said in an interview in Lubbock when he broke his silence. Which in this recording, it shows that he did indeed do a lot of things wrong! As a Representative, he said these things while in this meeting with Michael Quinn Sullivan, and Dennis Bonnen.
LUBBOCK, Texas -
Democratic candidate for Texas House District 83, Addison Perry-Franks, says Lubbock State Representative Dustin Burrows has left even more questions unanswered.
Burrows recently announced his re-election bid for 2020 amid the growing statewide spotlight. But Perry-Franks says he only spoke out after Governor Abbott endorsed him.
She says in interviews he's given, Burrows keeps avoiding the questions regarding his decision to step down from his role in the caucus leadership. Perry-Franks says the public deserves answers.
"When asked if he was going to give an apology to everybody involved, his statement was, 'I did nothing wrong.' I believe, and the people that I've talked to said they want an explanation from Dustin Burrows, not a run-around story."
Perry-Franks says she asks Burrows to answer these questions and that the Texas Rangers investigation into this scandal be "swift and just".
Perry-Franks announced her candidacy earlier this summer.
Texas House scandal involving Texas State Representative Dustin Burrows emerged only after feeling safe after Governor Greg Abbott endorses Burrows for re-election. This is after Governor Abbot sent out a letter the day before the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas that stated that the state and the people “need to take action upon their own hands” relating to immigrants in Texas.
